Thank you all for your responses. We just wanted to keep a plan B active. Both of us are on h1b and from India. After residency, she will have 3 more years on h1b, and I am entering 8th year on h1b, if we don't get GC after all this, we would like to try various options like India, Canada, Australia etc.. and that's why we started enquiring.

If you go toImmigration-law update time clearly says 3PM EST and IV postings are around 9.30PM EST ...so what have to be correct? the one which is posted at 3PM or 9.30 PM. You decide. Before asking same question in different place do some homework.

Hi bfadlia,
Did u receive ur extension? My case is pretty same, my receipt notice date has passed but no change in LUD. My case is in CSC. Have u received any RFE? Some ppl were saying that it takes around 3 months for getting approval from CSC.

I verified my 485 Application status online and this is what I found can you guys tel what could this mean.
My I140 is not approved yet.
Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: Document mailed to applicant.

Please submit evidence of lawful presence from October 1998 until August 17, 2007.
The documents may include the following:
A) a photo copy of form I-797 for all extensions and change of status
B) photo copy of form I-20 or IAP66 school records (front and back) including all school annotations
c) Photocopy (front and back) of applicant's Form I-94 Arrival/Departure Record

Pretty long timeline and multiple visa types. Not sure how O-1 works and whether it is a dual intent visa. In any case, looks like the RFE is pretty straight forward and they only need the historical documents, possibly because the record is pretty long.

This is as per USCIC:
06/05/08. Previous editions will be accepted only for medical exams conducted before August 1, 2008. Medical exams conducted on or after August 1, 2008, require use of the 06/05/08 edition (link at bottom of page).
Goto www.uscis.gov and click on 'Immigration Forms' and scroll down for I-693.
I guess that's the only hope I have. I'll keep you all posted.

If your friend maintains H status, she could bring her baby back on H4 visa.

Next thing....H1 program only once in 3 years or only when "needed".....
Cut the number of GCs by half...So that people will go back to their origin when their H1 expires.....
Attach huge price tag to GC... and...

You can take any position anywhere with anyone...H1B is only if you want to work in the US
You dont have to be physically present in US. One can join a company in US on H1 and work any where else through that employer

Again Boomerang... You dont understand what USCIS informed about I 140 premium. They announced that until the end of July 2007, no premium processing for I 140 and all the cases need to wait.. until they finish the pending I 485 cases.

I asked IV core on what version of immigration bill they support because I and other people wanted to know since there are so many amendments to the current immigration bill and Now I log in to see , the thread is missing, why, my question was straight forward, again I am asking them on what form of immigration bill they support. I highly doubt In what they are doing looks like they are working for the benefit of them self. Guys please don�t be ignorant and its your right to ask the question don�t be a dumb crowd but ask questions.

If this happens it will be a bad news as given environment I 140 approval takes years . Very soon there will be a backlog in I 140 stage.. They are just swaping backlog from one stage to another..

I got canadian greencard and running out of time to land there before my medical examination expires.
On top of this I don't have any visa left on my h-1b and there are no dates available at American embasies in Canada during Nov and Dec to get h-1b visa stamped.
Can I land in Canada and expect to return safe with no h-1b visa left. I am worried that my I-94 will be snatched at the border and not allowed to enter back into US.
Please share your experiences and suggest me the safe thing to do.
